11th Annual Phoenix Open – Blitz (August 31, 2025)

Format: 5-round Double Swiss System (two games per round)
Time Control: G/3;+2
One Section: Open (open to players of all ratings)
Important:
• USCF rated.
• USCF membership required (may be purchased or renewed at on site)
• September 2024 USCF Regular ratings will be used for section eligibility, pairings, and prize eligibility.
Other ratings may be used if higher. The decision of the Chief Tournament Director regarding
eligibility, rating adjustments, conversions, unofficial ratings, or other rating issues is final.
• Boards, sets and clocks will be provided for tournament play.
Prizes: $300 Total Prize Fund (based on 30 entries):
1st: $100
2nd: $65
3rd: $35
1st U2000: $50
1st U1400: $30
1st U800: $20
Entry Fee: $25 early; $30 late; $35 on-site

Early online registration until midnight MST Wed, Aug 27.
Late online registration until midnight MST, Sat, Aug 30.
On-site registration is 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, Sun, Aug 31.
A maximum of two half-point byes is available. Half-point byes must be requested
before the start of Round 3 and may not be revoked after Round 3 starts.
Schedule: Round 1 starts at 7:30 pm or at the conclusion of Round 4 of the 11th Annual Phoenix Open tournament whichever is later. Subsequent rounds will be paired as soon as possible.
Refunds: Refunds may be requested until one hour before the start of Round 1. No refunds will be given after that time. All refunds will incur a 5% processing fee.
