Arizona Scholastic State Blitz Chess Championship 2025– Register Now!

📍 Location: Crowne Plaza Resort, One N San Marcos Pl, Chandler, AZ 85225.
📅 Date: Friday, April 25, 2025
♟️ Format: 5 Double Round Swiss Tournament
⌛ Time Control: G/3;+2 (Each player gets 3 minutes with a 2-second increment per move.)
🏅 Tournament Sections
🔹 K-12 (Grades 1-12)
🔹 K-6 (Grades 1-6)
🔹 Players may choose to play up. Sections may be combined based on the number of entries.
🔹 Regular US Chess ratings will be used for pairings and prizes.
📌 Important Instructions
✅ US Chess Membership is Required – Join or renew at uschess.org. If you haven’t renewed by April 25, you can do so onsite before Round 1 through Unity Chess. Players who cannot provide proof of paid membership before the first round will not be paired.
✅ Equipment Provided – Chess sets, boards, and clocks will be available at the venue.
✅ Arrive on Time – No tournament check-in, but players must be present by 5:45 PM for pairings and announcements.
✅ ½ Point Byes Available – Must be requested before Round 1 starts.
✅ Refund Policy – Refunds will incur a $5 processing fee.

🔹 Online Registration: King Registration
🔹 Deadline: Online registration closes Friday, April 25 at 12:00 PM MST.
🔹 Onsite Registration: April 25, 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM. Late entries after 5:30 PM may receive a ½ point bye for Round 1.
💰 Entry Fees
📌 $15 – Register by March 24
📌 $20 – Register between March 24 – April 6
📌 $25 – Register between April 6 – April 25 (12:00 PM MST)
📌 $30 – Onsite registration (Late entries may get a ½ point bye for Round 1)
⏳ Tournament Schedule
🕕 6:00 PM – First Round Starts
🔄 Subsequent rounds begin immediately after the previous round
