Participants must have a current US Chess membership. \nHalf point byes available in all rounds with a maximum of 2. Byes must be declared before the start of round 1. All byes requested after round 1 will be zero-point byes. This includes all electronic scoresheets. \nIf a player wishes to bring such a device into the tournament hall\, the device (including smart watches) must be turned off (not placed into “silent” or “airplane” mode) and placed either face-up on the table where the player has a game in progress\, or placed into a bag that the player does not carry or open during the game in progress. \nFailure to completely turn off a device may result in penalties (time penalty\, forfeiture) and are at the discretion of tournament director staff. \nNotation Requirements: \nThe following notation guidelines will be in effect for this championship: \nK-1 Championship & K-3 Championship sections – Notation encouraged but not required. \nK-5 Championship\, 6-8 Championship & 9-12 Championship – Notation required. \nSACA will provide score sheets for this event. Players are responsible for their own pen/pencil. \nSACA Player and Parent/Coach Conduct Policy: \nSACA’s objective is to hold a harmonious and enjoyable tournament where all players and parents conduct themselves in a respectful manner. Therefore\, SACA has instituted a ZERO TOLERANCE conduct policy for all players\, including parents\, coaches\, or responsible adults.
