Important Update: Sunday Weekly Tournament Fees

Dear Unity Chess Players and Families,

Thank you so much for your feedback and for supporting our Sunday tournaments.

For the past 17 years, the entry fee has remained the same at 1 unit ($25). With rising costs for arbiters, venues, and supplies, we now need to make a small adjustment to keep the tournaments sustainable.

To make things simpler and fairer, we’ll now have just two rates:
• By Saturday night: $35 (1.5 units)
• On Sunday: $45 (2 units)

The main purpose of this change is not only to keep up with rising costs but also to encourage timely registration. Last-minute entries put a heavy burden on the arbiter and delay the start of the event, which affects all players. By registering early, we can start on time and ensure a better experience for everyone.

Thank you again for your understanding and continued support. Together, we’ve kept this Sunday tradition strong, and I’m excited to see it continue growing!

Best Regards,
Pedram Atoufi
